About the Beauce Sheepdog
The Beauce Sheepdog, or Beauceron, is a large French herding dog from the plains of Beauce, near Paris, used for herding sheep and guarding flocks. It is a strong, muscular, rectangular dog with a short, dense coat, usually black and tan or harlequin, and often has double dewclaws on the hind legs. It is a working dog that is valued for its courage and versatility.
Temperament
Confident, loyal and protective, usually reserved with strangers. Intelligent and learns quickly, but needs a calm, consistent handler and thorough early socialisation.
